Training: Mindfulness and Compassion

Training In Mindfulness

Mindfulness changes the way you relate to yourself and others from your very centre. Attending to your life with kind awareness enables you to navigate life with compassion, as a curious witness, without getting hooked into judgements or resistance.

This means you develop a stronger focus and sense of calm. You can face challenges with more ease. And you experience life from a place of calm and connection, joy and meaning. This in turn creates a positive ripple: a more compassionate, connected community.

Learning to Relax

(Healing Relaxation)

Relaxing the mind (Healing Relaxation) is a course that can be run as an introduction for 4- 6 weeks or can be ongoing as a way of deepening and supporting the practice and sense of community between participants.  This work is based on the belief that the mind can never be permanently damaged or destroyed and has its own capacity for balance and healing. . This work was developed by Akong Tulku Rinpoche,LINK a Tibetan doctor and teacher. This course formed part of his Tara Rokpa Therapy developed to bring relief to the stress and suffering, using methods more easily adapted to Western thinking.  This has continued to bring benefit over many years and he was awarded the ’60 years, 6 people’ accolade from the Home Secretary for those refugees who have made an inspiring and meaningful contribution to Britain’. He was and continues to be, a major inspiration both in terms of his wisdom and his compassion.
